At Cleanerway we pride ourselves on doing a professional job and train our staff to professional body standards (NCCA).  We aim to provide a great service for a decent price, we do not claim to be the cheapest, but we are certainly not the most expensive.  When we clean your carpets/ upholstery we follow a set of steps outlined below that will ensure that the service offered is the best that can be done on the type of fabric the product is made from.

Step 1 Carpet Cleaning - Cleaning Survey

The first step of the cleaning process  is an initial survey which allows us to gain detailed information about the material to be cleaned and prevents any problems that may arise later.  This will include how it is constructed, the type of fibres used using a burn test on a fibre of the carpet, the sub-floor , how  the carpet is fitted, the type of underlay used and any damage to the carpet.  Spots and stains are also identified to enable us to provide the correct  removal technique. We will also do a colour test to determine if the carpet is colour fast. Completing  the survey enables us to determine the best method to clean the carpet and identifies which cleaning solution should be used to gain the best results.

We can complete the carpet cleaning survey in 10-15 minutes, this will give us the essential information we need to  continue.  Room measurements will be taken during the survey and any furniture that needs to be moved will also be discussed at this point, together with the price of the job.

Step 2 Carpet Cleaning - Dry Soil Extraction

A vital part to cleaning process is  vacuuming each section of the carpet with and industrial vacuum cleaner to remove  the bulk of the sand, grit and dry soil.   Using an industrial vacuum cleaner also lifts the pile allowing cleaning to the base of the carpet fibres ensuring a more efficient clean. Around the edge of the carpets does not usually have the same wear as the rest of the carpet but can be found to have a lot of dust, we use a hand tool to extract this dirt.

Step 3 Carpet Cleaning - Spot and stain pre-treatment

Areas of the carpet that have been identified as problematic with stains are tackled next using a variety of chemical agents according to the nature of the stain. The stain cleaning agents are left for a short period so that they can take effect with any surplus cleaning material  being removed during the cleaning process.

Step 4 Carpet Cleaning _ Pre-Spray and Agitation

The whole of the carpet is then preconditioned  using chemicals suited to the types of carpet being treated, paying particular attention to heavy wear areas. This pre-spray is then agitated using a mechanical scrubber, so that the solution is worked into the carpet fibres. This allows the break down of the ground in dirt, spots and oils present in the carpet.

Step 5 Carpet Cleaning - Extraction

The next step involves the use of a  industrial Hot Water Extraction machine, which

forces the cleaning detergent deep into the base of the carpet pile at a high pressure. Using this method, reduces the risk of re-soiling as the residual matter is flushed away

Step 6 Carpet Cleaning - Furniture replaced

We return all the furniture back to it's original position and use protective foil card and  polystyrene blocks under any furniture that has wooden base. This is due to the fact that varnish from the wood can seap out of the wood whislt the carpet is still wet and leave nasty stains.

Step 7 Carpet Cleaning - Grooming

Once the cleaning process has completed we groom the carpet pile to enhance the appearance maximising light reflection, which also reduces any matting problems and aids in the carpet drying process after being cleaned.
